Headcollar training

Headcollar training by Tiny De Keuster

A one-page handout going through the process of teaching a dog to be comfortable in a headcollar.

Note: Headcollars should only be used as a safety measure with a double-ended lead also attached to the harness. Any sudden pressure on a headcollar can damage a dog’s neck. However, in particular situations with large, strong dogs or vulnerable clients they can be a necessary safety measure and should be introduced carefully.

Handout provided by Natalie Turton, Pawsitive Dog Behaviour Consultancy, with permission of BSAVA.

Course cost £10

Students have access to a dedicated private Facebook support group for any questions and advice.
